Humility Brings God's Honor, the Only Honor that Matters

 ...the Only Honor that Matters

S. Matthew 23:11,12

He who is greatest among you shall be your servant.

Whoever exalts himself [with haughtiness and empty pride] shall be humbled (brought low), and whoever humbles himself [whoever has a modest opinion of himself and behaves accordingly] shall be raised to honor.

O. In the Kingdom, the person who is humble and has a modest opinion of himself...living out that modest opinion of himself...he will be raised in honor. Those who are the attendants of others...seeing others needs and supplying those needs...have the greatest honor in the Kingdom.

A. The definition of 'humble' in the dictionary is: Marked by meekness or modesty in behavior, attitude, or spirit; not arrogant or prideful.

This is the person God will set honor on.

My attitude has to change. I need to be more humble from the inside out. But I can not do this by myself. It can only be a supernatural change. The honor I seek can not come from man, but God.

Why do I seek honor from man? It is only God that can satisfy this hunger for honor. This comes when my mind is changed to know that God is honoring me.

P. Father, I ask that You help me seek YOUR honor and not humans. I ask that You show me how to do this...that You would change my mind and heart, supernaturally. Help me to honor others without jealousy or asking 'what about me'...it's not about me, it's about YOU! Change my heart, Lord!

Getting Rid of Unripened Fruit; WASTING MY TIME ON WHAT DOESN'T PRODUCE GROWTH

WASTING MY TIME ON WHAT DOESN'T PRODUCE GROWTH

S. Matthew 21:19,21

And as He saw one single leafy fig tree above the roadside, He went to it but He found nothing but leaves on it [seeing that in the fig tree the fruit appears at the same time as the leaves]. And He said to it, Never again shall fruit grow on you! And the fig tree withered up at once.

21And Jesus answered them, Truly I say to you, if you have faith (a firm relying trust) and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, Be taken up and cast into the sea, it will be done.

O. It was 'ripe fruit season' for the fig tree. But no fruit was growing there. Jesus caused the whole tree to die because of this...(no fruit in DUE season is a waste of time and a 'lie to the spirit' if we think it WILL produce and hasn't). He then told His disciples that not only could they 'cut off what wasn't producing fruit', they could also 'throw mountains/troubles' (that were'nt producing any 'growth of fruit' and hence a problem sent by only satan) and cause that problem to be 'cast into the sea'. It was Jesus' show of authority...and He gave that same authority to us.

A. Am I wasting my time on what won't produce any fruit? Times and seasons SHOULD produce fruit that feed my spirit or the spirit of others. If it doesn't than Jesus said I can KILL IT! Then He says that I can actually cast out the troubles that cause no production of fruit, either. These troubles, sent by satan ALONE, won't produce any growth in my spirit/soul and I can command them to leave.

P. Where I have no fruit to give You glory, Lord...I pray for clear spiritual vision to SEE that. Help me to know Your seasons of growth and those seasons in which satan tries to steal my time and fruit. Thank You for the authority to drive away satan-only-troubles that don't produce any growth in me...they just waste my time here on earth.

 Loving Jesus above Anything Fearful

S. Matthew 17:6-8When the disciples heard it, they fell flat on their faces, scared to death. But Jesus came over and touched them. "Don't be afraid." When they opened their eyes and looked around all they saw was Jesus, only Jesus.

O. This is the way to conquer all fear! Looking only at Jesus...loving Him above all fear. LOVE CONQUERS FEAR!

A. If I love Jesus over and above EVERYTHING...then I TRUST Him! I should have no fear AT ALL! This proves to Jesus that I trust Him with my life and all that is around me...even the 'turbulent waters'.

P. Jesus, forgive me for being fearful. Open my heart to loving You over and above all else so that proof of my love for You will rise up in extreme faith and trust in You!

Living in 'JESUS-JOY
Mood:  happy

LIVING IN 'JESUS-JOY' EVEN IN TROUBLES
S. Matthew 16:24-26 (MSG) Then Jesus went to work on his disciples. "Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You're not in the driver's seat; I am. Don't run from suffering; embrace it. Follow me and I'll show you how. Self-help is no help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to finding yourself, your true self.
O. LIVING IN JESUS JOY even in TROUBLES. ACTUALLY EMBRACING TROUBLES! In letting Jesus lead us, not 'doing it ourselves', we find who we truly are deep inside during our troubles. Troubles and trials are 'teaching tools' that get us positioned in a place behind Jesus. When we give these 'teaching tools of troubles' to Jesus, allowing our curiosity and sense of adventure to be stirred up, we can go through the bumps of life with more joy, learning at the end who we are inside when we let Jesus take the lead.
A. VERY seldom have I gotten through life's bumps in joy. But I WANT to live in joy even through trials. How? I can let Jesus lead, knowing He has a reason that I am going through this trial. It is a way of teaching me who I really am inside; shining light on the dark places inside so I can see them and give them to Jesus. Going through tests is God's way of teaching me that all life can be lived in joy EVEN EMBRACING TROUBLES IN JOY; looking for the adventure in trials and knowing it will show me a new and stronger side of myself when Jesus leads me. The trials are 'teaching tools' to teach me how to live in joy because I KNOW who has the reigns!
P. When troubles come, Holy Spirit, I ask that You would give me the determination to live in "Jesus Joy"...no matter what. That I would quickly see Him leading me to the other side, knowing that He will be shining the way before me, teaching me about what needs to 'go' and what can be strengthened inside of me.

Healing IS Happening TODAY; God's GREATEST Miracles for THIS day!

"HEALING IS HAPPENING TODAY; GOD'S GREATEST MIRACLES FOR THIS DAY"

S. Matthew 11:4-6

Jesus told them, "Go back and tell John what's going on:
The blind see, The lame walk, Lepers are cleansed, The deaf hear, The dead are raised, The wretched of the earth learn that God is on their side. "Is this what you were expecting? Then count yourselves most blessed!"
O. Jesus tells the 'messengers of God's grace and mercy' to tell the God's messenger, John, the confirmation that God's Son has come. The proof is right before them. "The spiritually lame DO walk as now healed and complete; the sinful and fleshly (lepers) are now cleansed of their fleshly sins; the ones who could not hear God, can now hear Him clearly; the spirit inside of the 'redeemed', is now living."
Then he asks, "Is this what you/people on earth expected? That the INSIDE would be healed and not so much the OUTSIDE? Count yourselves BLESSED!"

A. Always questioning WHY the physical healing miracles weren't happening here in this country right now, I can now understand what Jesus was doing and saying in this scripture. What we humans THINK is not always what God is really doing. The MOST important healing is done on the INSIDE of man, the most important part of man; his spirit and soul. The OUTSIDE may follow later, but the inside of us is the ETERNAL part. Jesus DOES heal our everyday spiritual walk (the lame walk); He DOES heal our sinful ways and the way we are 'seen' on the outside (the leaper); He DOES heal our spiritual ears so that we can hear God's Words with spiritual understanding (the deaf); and our spirits are now alive with renewed and purposeful life (the dead are raised). Yes...we now know, through Jesus, that GOD IS ON OUR SIDE!

We are the HEALED...and THIS DAY! Only it isn't always on the OUTSIDE...it's on the INSIDE, the part that lasts for eternity...in our SOULS AND SPIRITS!

P. Father, even if You have chosen not to heal our fleshly bodies today, You have chosen to heal our souls and spirits EVERYDAY! Thank You, for You know what is the MOST important! Open my eyes to see the miracles of Your healing hand on the souls and spirits of Your people of THIS day! These are Your GREATEST miracles!

'SIMPLE TRUST IN GOD' or 'I Can't Harvest or Reap UNTIL I am Harvested and Reaped Myself

 "SIMPLE TRUST IN GOD"
OR
"I Can't Harvest or Reap UNTIL I have been Harvested and Reaped MYSELF"
S. Matthew 8:10 (MSG)Taken aback, Jesus said, "I've yet to come across this kind of simple trust in Israel, the very people who are supposed to know all about God and how he works. (Israel=those who prevail/contend with God...US)
O.
Simple trust in God...Jesus never found it, not even in His home town. In Matthew 9:1 Jesus goes to His very own hometown (likened to the Church), finding no one who had 'simple trust' in God. In Matthew 9, He saw their needs, sickness, disease, demonic influences....and the chance to rescue His own people! And His heart broke for them. He saw the need for a 'Harvest' and 'more Harvesters'...FOR His own people/church. His DESIRE was that His own HOMETOWN would be healed, whole, and KNOW SIMPLE TRUST IN GOD!
A. I'm a Believer...everyone knows it.
But if I am spiritually broken, spiritually or physically sick and diseased, and believing Satan's lies....how can I say, "Jesus lives in me...SEE?"
I can't! Simple trust in God doesn't show in my life. I would be living a lie. No one would believes me because of what my life shows. BUT, if I let Jesus rescue me, live in SIMPLE TRUST IN GOD...THEN I will be BELIEVED!
I need THE Harvester to HARVEST (the gathering of a ripened crop...I NEED TO BE RIPENED) and REAP (to gather the fruit of labor or works by God; God receives a return for what has been done by Jesus in my life; to gather, as a harvest, by cutting away my flesh and showing ONLY Jesus.) ME....BEFORE I can even BEGIN to harvest out in the world myself.
P. I need SIMPLE TRUST in You, Father...allowing YOU to do all that needs done in my life. I can not live before others until You harvest and reap ME! As I go through this cutting away of flesh, help me to keep my eyes on YOU, Father...AND Your purposes for my life. Keep me ever hopeful in YOU!

Seeing from the Inside Out
Mood:  surprised
Now Playing: Umma23
Topic: Matthew 5:8

S. Matthew 5:8 (msg)

"You're blessed when you get your inside world—your mind and heart—put right. Then you can see God in the outside world."

O. When our heart is changed toward God by salvation, we begin to understand the rights and wrongs of the outside world. We then become more sensitive to what God does in the world of man; past, present and future.

A. The word see in this scripture is "to see with the mind, to perceive, know; to see, i.e. become acquainted with by experience, to experience.

In my personal life, this meant that I would come to know God personally on the inside of me. I would actually EXPERIENCE Him! And when I did experience Him, my life could never ever be the same. He changed my inside vision of the world with glimpses of the way He sees it. When a person sees in this way, they are changed forever. To know God is to co-subside with Him...to be like Jesus...to walk with Him. As partners, it is my job to do life GOD'S way...the purpose He created me in the first place.

P. Father, I ask for spiritual eyes to see life in the way You intended it. Help me to see it through Your eyes. Help me to be an example, by shadowing Jesus, so that I can help others to see this life too...the way You created it to truly be.

Troubles cause wisdom cause growth cause fruit; Tilling Life's Soil
Mood:  hungry
Now Playing: Umma23

S. Matthew 2:13-15

13.) Now after they had gone, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph (increase) in a dream and said, Get up! [Tenderly] take unto you the young Child and His mother and flee to Egypt (troubles/oppression/anguish); and remain there till I tell you [otherwise], for Herod (outward appearnace) intends to search for the Child in order to destroy Him.

14.) And having risen, he took the Child and His mother by night and withdrew to Egypt (troubles/oppresion/anguish) 15And remained there until Herod’(outward appearance) death. This was to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet, Out of Egypt (troubles/oppression/anguish) have I called My Son.

O. Jesus is our life's example. What He did, we are to do, too.

In these scriptures Joseph/Increase obeyed God (No obedience to God, no growth/fruit)

... Joseph wanted Jesus safe and to grow up healthy and wise. As a good father, Joseph led His Son to a place in which to grow. obeying God's direction.

That place was 'life'...EGYPT, a place of troubles.

Life is where we learn wisdom. Here is where 'increase/Joseph' led our 'Salvation/Jesus' in order to learn wisdom through 'troubles/Egypt' until... His 'outward appearance/flesh/'Herod' woud DIE!

A. God wants me to have attain wisdom, learned through my living life...here, in life's troubles, is where my outward/fleshly appearance dies. Just like Jesus as He grew up in Egypt. Growth and fruit are produced in my "Egypts".

The soil of my life has to be WORKED UP in order for full growth! THEN, with the wisdom learned, FRUIT CAN GROW.

P. Thanks You for showing me that even Jesus had to go through 'Egypt', led by His Father, in order to become wise, drop the fleshly outward appearance, and then produce fruit and growth. I WANT THAT, LORD! Teach me wisdom as I go through my life. I want to grow in health and fruit!

I Am Armed When I Am ON MY KNEES!

S. 2 Corinthians 11: 13-15  (MSG) Satan does it all the time, dressing up as a beautiful angel of light. So it shouldn't surprise us when his servants masquerade as servants of God.

12:7 (MSG) Satan's angel did his best to get me down; what he in fact did was push me to my knees. No danger then of walking around high and mighty!

O. Satan knows God, and he knows us. If he can fool us, he will, even coming to us through any disguise.

When we discover these deceits, we are to fight.

2 Corinthians 12:7 gives us the answer to HOW to fight...on our knees.

Prayer, praise and humility to God is our weapon against satan.

Everything in the Kingdom is opposite the world.

Satan has no power through prayer, praise and humility. These things are Truth...and satan has no Truth in him.

This is how we break through and find out Truth. We bow to God and let Him take it!

A. The only way to discern Truth from lies is in humility. When I humble myself to God in prayer and praise, Holy Spirit reveals to me the Truth even through the disguise of deception. Being sensitive to Holy Spirit helps me to 'see' what satan tries to hide. I can then know WHO the enemy is, and what he is trying to disguise himself as.

ON MY KNEES I FIND TRUTH AND POWER!

P. Father, I pray for eyes to see the enemy. I pray for discernment of his ways of attack. Make me quick to remember, Holy Spirit, that when deceit comes in disguise, it is time to get armed on my knees!

A 'Fish' in 'Life's-Net': LEARNING 24/7 JOY!

A 'FISH' IN LIFE'S 'NET'; LEARNING 24/7 JOY

S. 2 Corinthians 7:10,11 (MSG)

Distress that drives us to God does that. It turns us around. It gets us back in the way of salvation. We never regret that kind of pain. But those who let distress drive them away from God are full of regrets, end up on a deathbed of regrets.
And now, isn't it wonderful all the ways in which this distress has goaded you closer to God? You're more alive, more concerned, more sensitive, more reverent, more human, more passionate, more responsible. Looked at from any angle, you've come out of this with purity of heart.

O. The definition of 'distress' is: "to afflict with pain, physical or mental; oppress or crush with suffering, misfortune, or calamity; make miserable."

Sounds like 'life' to me.

God uses my 'life' and 'living' to 'work out my 'salvation'.

I can either wiggle like a fish in a net, taking longer to learn and knowing the end result is the same

...OR I can surrender in the joy of knowing that I am learning what God has sent that 'distress' to teach me...and KEEP my joy!

The choice is always mine!

A. During my last BIG 'distress', I wiggled like a 'crazy fish' in the net of life.

The end result could have come alot faster if I would have surrendered to what God was trying to teach me in the first place.

I now see that I need to EQUALIZE MY JOY! (which I can't do alone...HOLY SPIRIT is my Helper in this). When 'distresses' of the net-of-life comes again, I need to rest in the knowledge that God has me there for a reason...and learn it in JOY! (AND curiosity!)

P. Father, make me 'life-smart'! I SO need eyes to see and a heart that trusts You in ALL life's 'nets'! Equalize my joy, Father...both in distressful times and times of joy! That would be MY proof to MYSELF that I trust in YOU totally...in or out of the 'fishing net'! Learning Your 24/7 JOY...no matter what!
