S. Exodus 20:24:
An altar of earth you shall make to Me and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your oxen. In every place where I record My name and cause it to be remembered I will come to you and bless you.

God prefers an alter (slaughter for sacrifice) of earth (soil) for our burnt offerings (our burned up steps to our 'walk of life') and our peace offerings (sacrifice for alliance or friendship; a voluntary sacrifice of thanks).

A 'natural state' is what God wants from me...a true heart, a heart that is real. In this 'real heart state' I am to allow Him to destroy my own way of walking through life. This is done by surrendering what I want for what HE wants, and doing this with a sincere heart.
He wants me to to give Him thanks, willingly, which brings on my alliegence and friendship with Him.

God, I know You want my 'real heart', my 'sincere heart'. I pray for a softened and real heart ALWAYS toward You. Make my heart like 'clay' in Your hands, Father.
